 Library Overview and Mission

The mission of the Troy ISD Libraries is to provide an enriching environment of quality teaching, learning, reading, and researching by focusing on the current and future needs of 21st-century learners. The District Librarian and library staff collaborate with the Troy ISD community to foster strong relationships, critical thinking, and information literacy skills.

Required Posting of Planned Library Book Purchases

In accordance with recent Texas legislation (House Bill 900 and related state requirements), school districts must provide public notice of library books selected for purchase prior to adding them to school collections.

Our district is committed to offering high-quality, age-appropriate reading materials that support student learning and encourage a love of reading. Below is the list of library books planned for purchase for our school libraries.

We value transparency and community awareness as we continue building a rich and wholesome collection of literature for students at every grade.

Texas America250 Reading Challenge – Fun for the Whole Family!
Families are invited to take part in the Texas America250 Reading Challenge, a statewide celebration leading up to the 250th anniversary of the United States. From January 1–December 31, 2026, students from Pre-K through 12th grade can log 2,500 minutes of reading and learning activities—together or independently! Minutes can be earned by reading books, listening to audiobooks, attending library programs, volunteering, or even visiting Texas State Parks. Choose stories and nonfiction that explore American and Texas history, culture, nature, and space, or simply enjoy reading what you love. It’s a great way to build lifelong reading habits while spending meaningful time as a family. Students who complete the challenge can earn a certificate of completion—check in with your school library for details!
