Bell County Fair 2024

Troy FFA was well represented at the annual Bell County Youth Fair & Livestock Show-Rodeo. With over 250 entries and over 100 top TEN places. 

A Reserve Grand Champion, Champion Exotic, and Reserve Champion Showman amongst other distinct recognitions. Students who qualified for the sale of champions, totalled over $60,000 at the premium auction this year! Our students are great representations of hard work paying off!

 

16 students competed in the Market Swine division with 

22 top ten places in seven different  categories as follows: 

 

Grant Browning: X-Bred- 3rd

Reagen Buck: Dark OPB-10th and Hamp- 6th

Raine Dutcher : Berk- 8th

Stephen Gerber: Duroc-10th

Kayla Lucky: Duroc- 3rd

Gracen McMurthy: X-Bred- 9th and York-5th

Joseph McMurthy: Berk- 4th and York-8th

Case Simpkins: X-Bred- 5th, Dark OPB- 3rd, and Hamp- 5th

Addison Singleton: Dark OPB- 2nd

Arriat Singleton: York- 5th

Jayden Tarrence-Lucky: Dark OPB- 1st

Allie Villarreal: X-Bred- 2nd, Duroc- 2nd, and Duroc-7th

Kaleigh Welch: Dark OPB- 5th and York- 3rd

Cayson Willis: Duroc- 10th

a top ten placing as follows:

16 students competed in the Market Lambs division 

with 11, top 10 places in Class 20-31 as follows:

Jaxon Jarosek: Class 25-7th and Class 27-6th

Ethen Jenkins: Class 23- 9th

Jaylynn Lloyd: Class 31- 6th

Luke McCiver: Class 27- 5th

Layla Nelson: Class 23- 2nd

Sierra Payton: Class 23- 5th and Class 26- 1st

Addison Singleton: Class 28- 1st, Class 30-5th, and Class 31-3rd

Arriat Singleton: Class 27- 10th

Riley Singleton: Class 26- 5th

Kalan Thigpen: Class 23- 8th

Kaycen Thigpen: Class 29- 9th

Hayden Stevens: Class 24- 4th

Haylee Wilson: Class 20- 1st, Class 21- 2nd, and Grand Champion Dorper

 

Four students competed in the Breeding Sheep division 

With six, top 10 places in Class 7, 10, and 11 as follows:

 

Addison Singleton: Class 10- 2nd and Class 11- 4th

Kolbie Thigpen: Class 7- 8th

Shelby Darden: Class 7- 1st and Grand Champion Southdown

Hayden Stevens: Class 7- 3rd

 

Six students competed in the Market Goats division with

With seven, top 10 places in Class 5,7,8, and 9 as follows: 

 

Alexis Cotton: Class 5- 8th and Class 8- 9th

Jlynn Sanborn: Class 7- 7th

Haylee Wilson: Class 8- 4th, Class 9- 1st, and Reserve Overall Market Goat

Mia Zaragoza: Class 9- 8th

 

One student competed in the Breeding Goats division 

with a top three placing as follows:

 

Alexis Cotton: Class 2- 3rd 

 

Five students competed in the Heifers division with 

Grand Champion winners a Champion British,  a Champion Exotic, and Champion Junior Showman winner in Class 1,3, and 6 as follows: 

 

Emily Gowan: Class 6 British- 1st and Reserve Grand Champion Heifer, Reserve Grand Champion British, and Champion Senior Showman

Riley Gowan: Class 1 British- 3rd and Reserve Champion Intermediate Junior Showman

Mollie Welch: Class 1 Exotic- 1st, Class 3 Exotic- 1st, and Champion Exotic, Champion Junior Showman

 

Two students competed in the Fryer Rabbits division with 

One,  top 10 place as follows:

Three students competed in the Turkey division with 

Three, top 10 places in the Hen and Tom categories as follows:

Four students competed in the Roasters division with

Three, top 10 places in the Pullet and Cockerel categories as follows:

11 students competed in Broilers divisions with 

Four, top 10 places in the Pullet and Cockerel categories as follows:

Six, top 10 places and a Reserve Champion as follows:
