Presenting the Award

Educators Credit Union and KXXV News 25 surprised high school math teacher Samantha Millerd with the Students Choice Award. Millerd was nominated by Freshman, Emma Parsons.

The award is for teachers who make a difference in the lives of students. In Parsons nomination she states that Millerd

has been one of the best teachers I've had in years. I have struggled in math for a very long time but Mrs. Millerd has been helping me understand. She is an amazing teacher and many of my peers agree. Not only is she an amazing teacher she is also a swiftie, a great listener, and overall considered a friend to most of the students. I honestly wish I could have her as my teacher for the rest of high school.  I look forward to her class all day long, every day (except when we have a test).

We are incredibly grateful for students who take the time to shine light on their teachers and thank them for the impact they have in their lives. We are incredibly proud of our teachers who day in and day out continue to teach with excellence positively impacting the lives of our students.

Since 2002, Educators Credit Union has teamed with KXXV News Channel 25 to honor area teachers with the Educators Credit Union Student’s Choice Award.  This award gives students the opportunity to recognize their favorite teacher.  Students are asked to send in a nomination telling why they think their teacher should receive the award. One award is presented each month during the school year and the presentation is aired on KXXV News Channel 25 the entire month they are selected.
