STAAR/EOC Testing Information

 

Testing Calendar:

 State of Texas Assessment Calendar

Elementary Students Will Participate In The Following Assessments Under STAAR:

Grade 3 Reading and Math

Grade 4 Reading, Math, and Writing

Grade 5 Reading, Math, and Science

 

Student Performance:

Once students have taken a STAAR assessment they will receive a score indicating their performance. Students will fall in to one of the three categories below:

Masters Grade Level

Meets Grade Level

Approaches Grade Level

Impact on Grade Advancement:

Students will take STAAR exams in the spring of this school year. The Student Success Initiative requires that students in grades 5 and 8 meet the Level II Satisfactory Academic Performance Standard on both the reading and math exams to be promoted to the next grade.  Retest administrations for students who do not meet standard will be offered in May and June.


 

Middle School Students Will Participate In The Following Assessments Under STAAR:

Grade 6 Reading and Math

Grade 7 Reading, Math, and Writing

Grade 8 Reading, Math, Science, and Social Studies

Grade 8 (students enrolled in high school mathematics) Algebra I End-of-Course STAAR Test
 

Student Performance:

High School Testing 

Students in high school takes state assessments according to the courses they take. High school students must pass each of five End-Of-Course assessments to be eligible for graduation.

Testing Opportunities:

1st Testing Opportunity - March for English I & II and May for all other EOC Courses
2nd Testing Opportunity - June
3rd Testing Opportunity - December

 

Student Performance:

PSAT Testing/Registration Information
The PSAT/NMSQT will be administered on during the month of October.  Homeschooled students wishing to register and take the PSAT should contact the Troy High School Counselor at 254-938-2561.
